H.E. President Hamid Karzai visits Italy
On Wednesday 1st of June 2011, following an official invitation by Italy’s Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, H.E. President Hamid Karzai, left Afghanistan to attend Italy’s 150th unification anniversary in Rome.
Italy’s 150th unification anniversary was celebrated on Thursday 2st June 2011, in Italy’s capital Rome, in the presence of several high ranking officials and guests, including presidents from the other participating countries.
In addition to attending Italy’s 150th unification anniversary, H.E President Hamid Karzai met with Italy’s Prime Ministry Silvio Berlusconi, to further tighten and expand the relationships between the two countries.
During this visit, Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Dr. Zalmai Rasoul and Italy’s Foreign Minister Franco Frattini, signed an agreement, which will focus on mutual cooperation between Afghanistan and Italy, in the presence of Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Italy’s Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
H.E. President Hamid Karzai was accompanied by the Afghan Foreign Minister Dr. Zalmai Rasoul, the Afghan Finance Minister Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal and the presidential spokesperson Wahid Omar.
