H.E. President Hamid Karzai visits Kazakhstan
On 14 June, H.E. President Hamid Karzai left Afghanistan for Kazakhstan to participate in the summit of the Central Asian nations and hold talks with other regional powers.
H.E. President Hamid Karzai, met Noor Sultan Nazarbayove, Kazakhstan’s President, in Astana. During the meeting, in which Afghanistan Foreign Minister Dr. Zulmay Rasool and National Security Advisor Dr. Rangin Dadfar Spanta also attended, the presidents of Afghanistan and Kazakhstan discussed regional issues and investment in Kazakhstan in Afghanistan. The presidents of the two countries also talked about expansion of bilateral relations in various sections, and of economical development.
The Shanghai Summit was hold on 15 June in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, with the participation of presidents of Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, who are the native members of the organization.
H.E. Hamid Karzai also participated and delivered a speech in the summit. During the summit, H.E. Hamid Karzai, also met with Chinese President Hugin Tawo, Iranian President Mahmood Ahmadinejad and Russian President Demitri Midvedov to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations and improvement of cooperation within the Shanghai Summit.
On the trip to Kazakhstan, H.E. President Hamid Karzai, was accompanied by Foreign Minister Dr. Zulmay Rasool, National Security Advisor Dr. Rangin Dadfar Spanta, Presidential Palace Deputy Officer, Humaira Ludin, and President Spokesman Wahid Omar.
