Reception for Kabul United

On Wednesday 3 August, Ambassador Bakhtari hosted a reception at the residence for the girls' football team Kabul United. The Afghan girls visits Norway to participate in Norway Cup, the international football cup for children and youth that takes place in Oslo every year. This week, Kabul United played three games against Norwegian girls' teams.

Present at the reception were also the trainers and arrangers from Afghanistan and Norway. The Norwegian Embassy in Kabul has been central in arranging the trip for the girls, yet, another person that has been much involved is Norunn Grande, leader of the Nansen Centre for Peace in Lillehammer. She thanked the Ambassador for the support, and emphasized how happy she is that this project has been successful, and how extraordinary it is for the Afghan girls to visit Norway and perform their favorite activity, football.
