H.E Ambassador Manizha Bakhtari speaks at conference in Finland


Afghanistan’s Ambassador to the Nordic countries, H.E Mrs. Manizha Bakhtari, was one of the speakers at the conference “Tough politics and humane security- in the best interests of superpowers, warlords and women?” that took place in Helsinki, Finland on 21 November 2012. 



Afghanistan’s Ambassador to the Nordic countries, H.E Mrs. Manizha Bakhtari, was one of the speakers at the conference “Tough politics and humane security- in the best interests of superpowers, warlords and women?” that took place in Helsinki, Finland on 21 November 2012. The complex geopolitics of Afghanistan and Pakistan and the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security were the overarching themes of the conference. In her address, Mrs. Bakhtari elaborated on the implementation of the resolution 1325 in Afghanistan and shared her own experiences related to the matter. Among the distinguished speakers were also Finnish Minister of Defence, Mr. Carl Haglund and Mrs. Ann Wilkens, former ambassador of Sweden to Afghanistan and Pakistan.  The conference was organized by 1325 Network Finland, Finnish Committee for European Security (STETE), Hanasaari Swedish- Finnish Cultural Centre and Operation 1325 Sweden. During her visit to Finland, ambassador Bakhtari also held meetings with the Finnish immigration services as well as the Finnish police and the Immigration Department of the Finnish Ministry of Interior.
