Embassy of Afghanistan in Oslo celebrates Afghanistan cultural day

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Oslo celebrated the Afghanistan cultural day on March 22.





Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Norway H. E. Manizha Bakhtari, Minister Counsellor Mr. Ahmad Jawed Mojadidy and the other diplomatic staff at the Afghan Embassy in Norway welcomed around 100 specially invited guests to the cultural reception, among them the instituted involved in Afghanistan week 2014, diplomats, representatives from governmental and non - governmental organizations like the Norwegian Refugee Council, Norwegian Red Cross, Norwegian Afghanistan Committee, as well as representatives from media, civil society and a number of Afghans scholars living in Norway.

The event begun with the playing of the national anthems of both, Afghanistan and Norway, followed by showing a documentary film about Afghanistan in sixties and seventies.

Also as a part of cultural program, traditional Afghan costumes, traditional decorations, art displays and portraits prepared by Afghan artists were exhibited.

The event also included Atan, Afghan traditional dance performed by a group of Afghan living in Norway, fashion show with traditional Afghan costumes and traditional Afghan music by an Afghan musician based in Oslo.

At the end, the guests were served with a buffet table, where guests were able to enjoy the Afghan national cuisine.
