H.E. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani meets the Foreign Minister of Denmark

H.E. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met this morning with Danish Foreign Minister, Mr. Martin Lidegaard.



The bilateral meeting was held at the Presidential Palace, where the two sides discussed counter corruption, human right particularly education for women, economic development and Bilateral relation between Afghanistan and Denmark.

Danish Foreign Minister congratulated H.E. President Ghani on Afghanistan presidential election and the formation of a national unity government, adding that nowadays the People of Afghanistan are more hopeful for their future and believe that the new government will lead Afghanistan to peace, stability and development and mentioned that Denmark will provide assistance to Afghanistan's reconstruction within its ability.

He also added: “The government of Denmark with his international partners are committed to continue his support for Afghanistan and the government of Denmark is dedicated to support $90 million till 2017”.

Welcoming Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. President Ghani thanked the government and the people of Denmark for their assistance which was provided to Afghanistan in the past 13 years and described Denmark’s contribution as effective in Afghanistan’s reconstruction process.

H.E. President Ghani also urged that the government of Afghanistan is committed to fight against corruption and has the full support of Afghan people.
