H.E. Mogens Jensen Denmark’s Minister for Trade and Development Cooperation visits Kabul
The Danish Minister for Trade and Development Cooperation, H.E. Mogens Jensen visited Afghanistan on 16 March 2015.
During his visit, the Danish Minister for Trade and Development Cooperation met with H.E. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, H.E. Chief Executive Dr. Abdullad Abdullah, First Lady Rula Ghani, members of the National Unity Government and representatives from Afghanistan business and trade networks.
After the meetings with Afghan officials, H.E. Mogens Jensen emphasized: “It’s clear after the meeting with H.E. President Ghani and H.E. Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah that the new government is ambitious and focused on tackling Afghanistan’s challenges concerning security, human rights, economic development and corruption.”
During the visit a Development Cooperation Agreement was also signed between the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the kingdom of Denmark by H.E. Mogens Jensen and the acting Minister of Finance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mr. Shafiq Ahmad Qarizada. According to the agreement, Denmark will disburse 1085 million DKK to Afghanistan in the period 2015-2017.
