H.E. Dr. Mohammad Azam Dadfar
Minister of Higher Education
Dr. Mohammad Azam Dadfar was born
on December 6th, 1946 in the Andkhoy District. After graduation from
high school, he he was admitted to the Medical School at Kabul
University. In 1973 he graduated with a degree in medicine, and from
1974 to 1978 he served as a lecturer at the university.
From 1986 to 1992 he headed the Pakistan-based Afghan Refugess Health Center. In 1992 he worked as an advisor to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva. From 1995 to 1996 he served as a member of the Reconstruction Knowledge Committee of Afghanistan in Hamburg, Germany. From 1999 to 2002, he worked as a medical professional in southern Afghanistan, and from July 2004 to December 2004 he aided in the country's Human Rights Commission. From April to December 2004 he served as Minister of Return and Refugees. Dr. Dadfar was appointed Minister of Higher Education in May 2006.
