H.E. Abdul Qudus Hamidi
Minister of Public Works
H.E. Abdul Qudus Hamidi son of Abdul Hamid was born in Sheberghan, the center of Jozjan Province, in 1956. H.E. Abdul Qudus Hamidi attended primary and high school in Ebn-Al-Eman High School in Sheberghan City and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in the Chemical Technology Department in 1979. Mr. Abdul Qudus Hamidi started working as an engineer in the Oil and Liquid Gas Department of Commerce Ministry.
He gained Master’s Degree from Kabul Polytechnic University, in 1983. He served as the General Manager of Mines Thermal Generation at the Ministry of Urban Development. He was appointed as Surveillance General Director at the Macrorayan Residential Area. He worked part time in Coca Cola KAM as Head Engineer. H.E. Hamidi was also professor at Balkh University for some time.
In 2004, he was appointed as Deputy Director of Mazar-e-Sharif Fertilizer Electricity Industries. He was the Director of the same company twice. Mr. Abdul Qudus Hamidi was appointed as Director of North Gas and Oil Disquisition from 2004 to 2005. In 2006, he was appointed as Advisor to the Minister of Mines. In October 2006, H.E. Hamidi was appointed as Deputy Minister of Sectoral Affairs in the Ministry of Mines, and from 2010 he was Minister of Public Works.
He is fluent in several native languages, like Dari, Pashto, Uzbek and Turkmen, as well as foreign languages like Russian, English. One of his scientific research projects was to specify the molybdenum quantity in Afghan mineral jewels. This was presented at the Kabul Polytechnic Professors’ Conference in 1983. Presently he is working on his Doctoral Thesis.
