H.E. Abdul Karim Barahowie

Minister of Border and Tribal Affairs

Abdul Karim Barahowie was born in the Nimroz province in 1955. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Weapons Technology from Afghanistan's Military College in 1977. After the Soviet invasion, he left the military, and became commander for the Mujahideen. In 1992, he became Governor of Nimroz Province, a post he held for three years before taking up arms against the Taliban. In 2002, he was reappointed Governor of Nimroz. He speaks Dari, Pashto, Balochi, and Barahowie.
