The highest authority of the Executive is the President. The President appoints two vice-presidents - first vice-president and second vice-president.
The Vice Presidents
The President and his/her two Vice Presidents are elected by direct vote for a five-year term. They are eligible to run for a second term. The winning presidential candidate must receive more than 50 percent of the total vote. If no candidate receives the required amount of votes, the top two candidates will participate in a second election round.
The Cabinet Ministers
The President appoints his Cabinet Ministers, who have to be approved by the National Assembly. The Cabinet Ministers run the government’s ministries. The number and titles of the Cabinet Ministers are also decided by the President and approved by the National Assembly.
