Norwegian Foreign Minister visits Afghanistan
The Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre is visiting the Norwegian troops in Afghanistan. He will also be attending the Kabul Conference on July 20th 2010. Seminar
Exit Afghanistan?
On Tuesday June 15th the Socialist Left Party (SV) arranged a seminar at the Norwegian Storting with the theme “Exit Afghanistan?”. The seminar had many prominent speakers, including Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and former UN Special Representative Kai Eide. Public debate on NATO’s future from Baltic prospective
During the Spring Session of the NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly from 28th of May to 1st of June 2010, in Riga, the capital of Latvia,
the Latvian Transatlantic organisation held a general debate on 1st of June.

President Karzai Meets US Leaders of Congress on 12 of May 2010
President Hamid Karzai met Wednesday with the leaders of both Houses of the US Congress in Washington.
At a meeting with the Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnel and Majority Leader Harry Reid, several issues of mutual interest including expanding bilateral strategic relations were discussed.
The President later met with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and leader of the Republicans, Johan Boehner. Speaker Pelosi welcomed President Karzai to Congress and said she was pleased to see the President again in Washington.
