The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Oslo celebrated the 92nd anniversary of Afghanistan's independence with a reception at the Ambassador's residence.

During his visit to Oslo, Governor Abdul Haq Shafaq of Faryab Province in Afghanistan gave a lecture on "The Afghan Security Takeover – and Norway's presence in Meymaneh".

On 21 June, H.E. Professor Bourhanuddin Rabbani, the Chairman of the High Peace Council, H.E. Mr. Masoom Stanekzai, Minister Adviser on Home Security to the President of Afghanistan and Secretary General for the High Peace Council, and Ms. Fatima Gailani, President of Afghan Red Crescent Society, arrived in Oslo to attend the 9th Oslo Forum.

H.E. Jawed Ludin, Afghanistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, was invited by the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Center on International Cooperation of New York University to participate in the third round of the regional political dialogue on Afghanistan.

On 22 June, the Embassy of Afghanistan organized a seminar  in cooperation with the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) on the topic: “The Current Situation in Afghanistan and the Upcoming Transition”.

On 9 May, Ambassador Bakhtari had a meeting with Mark R. Jacobson, Deputy NATO Senior Civilian Representative (SCR) to Afghanistan, to discuss NATO's engagement in Afghanistan. The meeting took place at the Embassy of Afghanistan in Oslo.

The 5th of May is the annual Afghan-Norwegian Friendship Day at Vinderen primary school in Olso. On this day the children prepare markets with food and self-made things to raise money for their friendship shcool in Afghanistan.
