H.E. Shukria Barakzai and Counselor Mr. Abdul Hadef attended today the inauguration ceremony of the photo exhibition “Hope in Despair” (Amnesty HiOA and Humans of Kabul Jan hosted the photo exhibition) by Afghan photographer and artist, Najeeb Azad. The inauguration was welcomed by international students, communities from Afghanistan and Norway.
Hope in Despair – a Photo Exhibition on Life in Afghanistan tells the stories from Afghanistan about conflict, despair, and revived hope with a focus on education, gender, poverty and peace-building. Mr. Azab’s exhibition tells the stories from Afghanistan about conflict, despair, and revived hope with a focus on education, gender, poverty and peace-building. The photo exhibition explores how Afghans have lived their world in hope and have kept following the path of hope and optimism. Afghans have found hope in despair – waking up every day in a country where they are not sure of their life for a second, a life that could end in any second by a rocket hitting their house, a suicide bomber exploding on the road, a military airstrike mistakenly targeting civilians, or killed due to persecution.
For those who missed the exhibition today, the photo exhibition will continue today and tomorrow in OsloMet University (HIOA).
