Ambassador Ghafoorzai held a Virtual Meeting with Per Albert Ilsaas, Norway’s Special Representative for Afghanistan.

On April 16, Ambassador Youssof Ghafoorzai held a video teleconference meeting with Per Albert Ilsaas, Special Representative of Norway for Afghanistan.

They discussed a range of issues, including the threat of Covid-19 in Afghanistan, international support for Afghanistan’s national relief effort and response to the pandemic, efficient delivery of humanitarian assistance, particularly in conflict affected areas as well as various aspects of ongoing efforts to advance Afghan-led and owned efforts towards a just, dignified and lasting peace in the country.

Ambassador Ghafoorzai also conveyed appreciation for Norway’s continued support for Afghanistan in various areas. He emphasized and reaffirmed the importance of the strategic partnership between Afghanistan and Norway.
