Afghanistan Embassy in Oslo Celebrates Afghanistan Independence Day
The Embassy of Afghanistan in Oslo celebrated with the Afghan community in Norway Afghanistan’s 91 Independence Day on the evening of September 10th, 2010 in Oslo. More than 150 guests—including Norwegian State Secretary Espen Barth Eide as guest of honor, diplomatic corps, media, and friends and supporters of Afghanistan—attended the glamorous Independence Day reception at the residence of Afghanistan Embassy in Oslo.
Ambassador Manizha Bakhtari conveyed the message of Afghanistan Government to the Afghan communities across the Nordic countries, wishing them a happy Independence Day.
Ambassador Bakhtari said, “Our People are devoted to freedom and independence. Afghanistan with a rich five millennia civilization has been through many ups and downs of the history, but the interest of Afghan’s to freedom secured and maintained our independence”.
Ambassador Bakhtari elaborated on King Amanullah’s missions in Afghanistan that how much he loved Afghanistan to gain her rightful place in the community of free, peaceful and pluralistic nations.
The Afghan Independence Day is celebrated in Afghanistan on August 19th to commemorate the recognition by the United Kingdom of Afghanistan’s independence in August 1919.
