His Excellency Suraya Dalil, Public Health Minister of Afghanistan visits Norway
Her Excellency Minister of Public Health Mrs. Suraya Dalil visited Norway from 15 to 18 April in order to attend the GAVI Board Retreat meeting which took place in Oslo on 16 and 17 of April 2012. Mrs. Suraya Dalil is a board member of the Global Alliance for Vaccination and Immunization (GAVI) since January 2012. On her admission in the board, Chair of the Board of GAVI, Vice President of the Norwegian Parliament, Mr. Dagfinn Høybråten wrote in his blog he was looking forward to work with Mrs. Suraya Dalil, Minister of Public Health of Afghan.

Celebration of the International Women’s Day
On Tuesday 14 March 2012 The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan hosted an event to celebrate the International Women’s Day in H. E. Ambassador Manizha Bakhtari’s residence in Oslo. Around 50 guests, among them 6 special guests from the Afghan Women Organization coming all the way from Afghanistan, as well as a representative from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in the celebration. On the program were lectures by five distinguished speakers, H. E Ambassador Manizha Bakhtari, Hamza Vahizi, Dr. Shakira Zalmai, Hangama Anwari and Wajhma Forough, who shared their reflections on women’s solidarity and women’s rights.
