Ambassador Manizha Bakhtari was invited to deliver her remarks in the conference over the role of women MPs in stabilizing and transforming Afghanistan and to raise awareness and support for the participation of female lawmakers in Afghanistan.
In the conference Afghan women MPs spoke directly about their experiences from the real personal risks they took during the election campaign and the difficulties of making policies in a society traditionally ruled by men.
In her speech Ambassador Bakhtari talked about progress and achievements of women in Afghanistan and made a critical analysis of the current situation and highlighted the challenges of women in the country. Ambassador Bakhtari emphasized that the role of women legislators can play an important part in stabilizing and transforming Afghanistan. At the end Ambassador Bakhtari identified the major challenges of female politicians in all political processes and the key areas where reform actions are extremely necessary.
