Ambassador expresses condolences over the death of a Finnish soldier
The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Nordic countries Manizha Bakhtari, expresses her condolences over the death of a Finnish soldier in Northern Afghanistan.
In reaction to the tragic news of a Finnish peacekeeper, Senior Lieutenant Jukka Kansonen who lost his life in Afghanistan while on duty in the ISAF operation, I wish to express my deepest condolences to his family and friends.
I was deeply saddened when I learnt about the roadside bomb in northern Afghanistan on Tuesday 15th Feb 2011, which claimed the life of Senior Lieutenant Jukka Kansonen, while serving to bring security and peace for the people of Afghanistan. I condemn this terrorist act in the strongest possible terms. My thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of the soldier who lost his life. On behalf of President Hamid Karzai and the people of Afghanistan, I thank the people of Finland for their generous support to Afghanistan and for their commitment to the cause of peace and development in the world.
