Head of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission Dr. Sima Samar visits Norway
Dr. Sima Samar Head of the Afghanistan Independent Human Right Commission was invited by the civil society to visit Norway to talk about Human Rights Challenges in Afghanistan.
During her visit Dr. Sima Samar attended two separate seminars; one at the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation ”Norad” and the other one at the Peace Research Institute Oslo” PRIO”, to talk about human rights in Afghanistan, women’s rights and the activities of the Independent Human Rights Commission in Afghanistan.
In both seminars Dr. Sima Samar mentioned that, since the collapse of the Taliban regime, achievements have been made towards freedom of expression, girls’ rights for education, participation in parliament and provincial council elections in Afghanistan.
