H.E. Dr. Jamaher Anwari
Minister of Refugees and Repatriation
H.E. Dr. Jamaher Anwari was born on 7 February 1955 in the Andkhoy district of Faryab Province. He was enrolled at Abu Muslim Khurasani High School in 1962 and after his graduation, he succeeded in the matriculation exam and continued his higher education in the Faculty of Pharmacy of Kabul University.
After graduating from the faculty of Pharmacy of Kabul University in 1976, H.E Anwari started his career in the Ministry of Public Health. He has worked in different positions for more than 25 years and due to his talent and competency he was appointed as the Director General of Pharmaceutical Affairs in 2007.
H.E. Anwari speaks Turkmani, Uzbeki, Dari, Pashto and English fluently and had great innovation initiatives in the Pharmaceutical Directorate; it can be claimed that he is the founder of the New Pharmaceutical Administration in Afghanistan.
Rehabilitation of Quality Assurance system, establishing several departments for the removal of Conflict of Interest in Drug affairs department, capacity building, and establishing contact with counterpart and internationally involved organizations like FDA of US, Swissmedic of Switzerland, HPFB of Canada, EMP of WHO, USAID, CIDA, establishment of SPS for the strengthening of Pharmaceutical System in Afghanistan and other achievements are among of all which he has done for Afghanistan’s Drug Administration.
H.E. Anwari has appointed as the Minister of Refugees and Repatriations on 2010 and according to the Afghanistan National Development Strategy has taken productive measures together with donor and International organizations towards legalizing migration and prevention of illegal migration and battle against human traffickers.
H.E. Anwari has attended as appointed representative in Loya Jirga for the draft and approval of Afghanistan constitution. Mr. Anwari is among the founder of Peace and solidarity council of Afghanistan’s Turkmen tribe which was founded outside Afghanistan in 2001. He has also the membership of executive board of carpet producers and exporters of Afghanistan.
