Press Release

Ambassador Manizha Bakhtari expresses her condolences in regards to the Danish soldier who lost his life in Afghanistan on Saturday.

Updated: (9.05.2011)

On Saturday 3 September, a Danish soldier was killed and four wounded in a road side explosion in the Helmand province in southern Afghanistan. The soldiers, all members of the second division of Denmark's Bravo company, were patrolling between Patrol Baseline and Gereshk when an improvised explosive device went off. One of the soldiers unfortunately lost his life before arriving at the hospital.

It deeply saddens me to hear that a Danish soldier lost his life and that four were wounded while contributing to the security of our country. We are truly greatful for the support and commitment of the Danish people to ensure peace and stability in Afghanistan. I wish to express my sincere condolences to the families and friends of the soldier who lost his life, and I hope for full recovery of those wounded.
