H.E President Hamid Karzai attends Shanghai Summit
On Tuesday 05 June 2012, H.E. President Hamid Karzai, heading a high-level of delegation, left Afghanistan for China to attend the 12th summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Beijing.
During his official visit to China, H.E President Karzai holds separate meetings with Presidents of China, Russia, Pakistan and Iran to discuss a range of issues including enhanced relations, regional peace and stability. It is scheduled that H.E. President Hamid Karzai will have a speech to Professors and Students at China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU) before the summit. H.E. President Karzai and his Chinese counterpart would sign a Joint Declaration between China and Afghanistan on establishing strategic and cooperative partnership". In addition the Agriculture Ministers of Afghanistan and China will sign an Agricultural Cooperation Agreement.
In this trip H.E. President Hamid Karzai was accompanied be the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Zalmai Rasoul, National Security Advisor Dr. Spanta, Minister of Mining Wahidullah Shahrani, Minister of Agriculture Mohammad Asif Rahimi, Chief of Staff to the President Abdul Karim Khuram and Presidential Spokesperson, Aimal Faizi.
