Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation meets Afghan Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development

Ms. Gunilla Carlsson, Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and H.E Wais Ahmad Barmak, Afghanistan’s Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development meet in Stockholm 14 November to discuss further cooperation between Sweden and Afghanistan. 



Ms. Gunilla Carlsson, Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and H.E Wais Ahmad Barmak, Afghanistan’s Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development meet in Stockholm 14 November to discuss further cooperation between Sweden and Afghanistan and other issues of mutual interest. The Swedish Minister assured that Sweden will remain committed to Afghanistan beyond 2014 and said that Sweden’s continued engagement will make Afghanistan the most important partner in bilateral development cooperation. Mr. Barmak, on his side, noted that Afghanistan still face challenges on the road ahead and therefore needs the international communities’ long term commitment. He mentioned Sweden’s support to the Afghan peace process as an example to follow. The two ministers also discussed ways to improve the situation for women and children".
